Chambers of specific princes of Uglich (XV century) - the most famous monument of antiquity and one of the oldest buildings in Russia.  They are part of the historical complex of the Kremlin and occupy the central part of the princely palace.

In 1584, Ivan the Terrible died in Moscow, and the boyars sent his unmarried widow and son from the capital to Uglich.  The mother and the royal heir lived in these chambers, waiting out the difficult period of the struggle for the Russian throne, where unknown people cruelly dealt with the boy after 7 years.  With the death of Tsarevich Dimitri, the last of the Rurik dynasty, a troubled time began in the country.
