Khairatabad Ganesh Ustav Mandap was founded by Shri S.Shankaraiah Mudiraj (Freedom fighter) in Hyderabad. This is known for the Tallest Ganesh idol in Hyderabad/AP. With incremental increase of height year by year, this  year (2011) the height of the earthen idol with natural colours is 52 feet and the idol would be more "imaginative" placed over an eagle sitting on a globe rather than the mythological mouse. The idol also holding the Laddu weighing 2000kg made specially made by a Tapeswaram sweetmaker (East Godavari district). The idol is decorated everyday with Garland of flowers worth rupees 10 thousand to 15 thousands and 70 thousand rupees on Inaugural day. There are 60,000 big and small pandals and to house Ganesh idols this year as against 45,000 last year.
