Climbing the stairs to the upper floors of Angkor Wat is not for the soft hearted, the steps are so steep, so curved from centuries of use, and so slippery from the humid climate in the jungle. Around the walls of it's inner court there are too many visible signs of the wars plaguing this country, bullet holes are easy to find. Still the place is majestic, the area shown here used to be bathrooms, just imagine the work to maintain this at the top levels of the temple.
