The museum building was built in 1928 as Baladieh or municipality.The building was handed over in 1995, Mazandaran Cultural Heritage and the restoration and repair in February 1997 was opened as a museum in Babol .The museum was established by the department of archaeology, anthropology and wood for 4 years . After the restoration roof in 2000 and basement in 2003, began working as the only anthropology museum at north of iran .
