Placed in the parish of San Martiño de Covas, Ferrol (province of A Coruña, NW of Spain), there, besides its high cliffs and old coastal batteries now abandoned, it is noteworthy its lighthouse, in operation since 1853.
Located at an elevation of 107 m above sea level, it has a height of 7 m and a range of 22 nautical miles.
It was electrified and modernized in 1974, thus replacing the clockwork installed in 1923 and the petroleum light system it had since 1902.
