The Historical Village of Castelo Rodrigo is a village on top of a hill, which preserves important references from medieval times. Among the monuments that add value to the historical heritage are the old walls, the ruins of the palace of Cristóvão de Moura, the 16th century pillory, the mother church, the medieval cistern and the vestiges that attest the presence of an important community of Christians- new. For more than 600 years, the village was a village and county seat. At various times in national history, its inhabitants stood out for their courage and loyalty to the crown.
