Behind the campus of the National Sun Yat-sen University, if you go straight up along the snaky mountain road and then the coastline highway for about 20 minutes, you will see ranges and ranges of houses sitting upon the mountain hill.This area is the so-called “Chaishan Village.” It was an area under military control and thus rarely known to non-locals.A decade ago, part of the village was opened for outside visits.This beautiful mountain and the coast have then become the most valuable ecological area.Local residents now work in the City instead of hunting fishes, and the wild road of the old days is now a leisure attraction filled with endless crowd of visitors.Furthermore, cafés and shops selling delicacies from the mountain and sea opened one after one in the area.Under the building restrictions, the owners have decorated their shops in a casual style in the best possible way.Visitors to the area will still find surprises here.
