6/13/2015 was a great day on the summit of 13,531 foot Cloudripper in Inyo National Forest California. The clouds cast fleeting contrast into the valleys below, constantly trying to climb over the dramatic Palisades to the south. They eventually did combine into fierce-looking thunderclouds, forcing us to turn back from the summit to avoid a dangerous situation.
