Ishan 1
Turkey

Church in the mountains of eastern Anatolia. A first church had been built under bishop Nerses in the 7th century. He was an Armenian, born in Ishan and became the Armenian Katholikos Nerses III. Building works continued to the 10th century, when the area already belonged for a long time to the Georgian kingdom of Tayk (Tao). Inscriptions mention the Georgian Kings Giorgi I. and Bagrat IV.  More panoramas at www.derPanoramafotograf.com
