High Hole Crater (aerial)[1]
California

Awesome aerial view overlooking High Hole Crater, a cinder cone that is the source of the vast Burnt Lava Flow on the south flank of the Medicine Lake Volcano, California.  The Burnt Lava Flow consists of two lava flows, the most recent may be only 1,200 years old.  Trees often will take root on the cinder cone before they can penetrate the inhospitable lava flow.  Views of Lassen Peak to the south & Mt. Shasta to the west.
