1994 - State Museum Association "Art Culture of the Russian North" 

It was formed in 1960. Meeting served as the basis for the art collection of the Regional Museum, which consisted mainly of works by local artists. It also included a small number of works of ancient art, and about thirty works of Russian artists, sent Archangel of the Imperial Academy of Arts in 1916 and the State Russian Museum in 1930. Collection was replenished as works of Russian art from the Solvychegodsk History and Art Museum, transferred to the museum of the State Museum Fund in 1921. Collection of the Museum of the Archangel then numbered about a thousand exhibits. 

Currently, the museum's collection of more than 30 thousand works of domestic art, created in the period from the 14th century to the present day. 

Arkhangelsk Museum of Fine Arts, in contrast to other museums in Russia, which are based on the gifts of Russian patrons, created his collection due to the active and tireless collecting activities, especially in the 1960s - 80s. The museum houses a collection of ancient northern iconography and wooden sculpture of 14-18 centuries., As well as a rich collection of northern folk art, including folk costumes, embroidery, weaving, carving and painting on wood, metalwork and ceramics.
