Lake Tyrrell, Sea Lake, Lounge to Heaven.
Victoria
Lake Tyrrell, also known as Lake Tyrrell Wildlife Reserve, is a shallow depression covered with salt crust located in the Mallee district of north-west Victoria, Australia. The name 'Tyrrell' originates from the indigenous Wergaia term signifying 'sky', a tribute to the Boorong Aboriginal community inhabiting the region, recognized for their celestial knowledge. In the mid-2010s, the lake gained prominence as a prime destination for tourists, particularly drawing the attention of Chinese visitors. The site holds significant allure for photographers and individuals active on social media platforms, as they capture images of the lake's reflective surface during the winter season. This phenomenon occurs when subterranean water rises to the top and inflows originate from the Avoca River/Tyrrell Creek system. This 360 panoramic image is taken from the Viewing Lounge giving a unique captivating view of Milky Way.
