Infront of Loisium
Lower Austria

Underneath, in and above the earth, plus the combination of these three elements - it is this task which LOISIUM architect Steven Holl was faced with. He accepted this challenge, and created a symbiosis of modern wine centre, suspended wine hotel, mystical cellar world  and extensive vineyards. Tarry a while, enjoy yourself, immerse youself in another world - the design is directed at a unique wine experience for the visitor.

The focal points of the creations by the New York architect Steven Holl are form, colour and material. The cube - shaped structure of the visitors' centre, with its unusual aluminium shell, tilts at a 5-degree angle towards the south, creating a fascinating intersection between architecture, vineyard and wine cellar.
