At Rathausgasse 2 right next to the gothic City Hall (Rathaus) you will find this neo-gothic church, which was built 1858-64 and is considered to be the most important building of this era in this region. From the Jugendstil-era are the vault paintings and the stained glass windows. The choir was redesigned in 1998. This church serves as bishops church (cathedral) for the old-catholich church in Switserland (Christkatholische Kirche der Schweiz). This is why there is a bishops seat in the choir. The parish who owns this church is a lively and open-minded group of old-catholic believers.
