Is the largest medieval square in Europe (40,000 square meters) in the center we find the Renaissance Cloth Hall (16th century); on one side the Town Hall Tower Gothic High 70 meters (13th century) and on the other side the magnificent Gothic St. Mary's Basilica (14th century) whose main tower reaches 82 meters; but virtually all of the 47 buildings in the square have a great historical value and/or architectural. In December 2005, the square was voted by Project for Public Spaces as the best place in the world is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places in the world.
