The pagoda is situated southeast of the White Horse Temple (the first buddist temple in China, built in A.D. 68).
Qiyun pagoda is the first buddist pagoda in China.
Originally, Qiyun pagoda is a nine-storey wooden pagoda, rebuilt in 1175.A peaceful place and I think more interesting than white horse temple. Local people belive that there is a golden frog beneath the pagoda, they clap their hands 20 meter far from the pagoda and hear the frog sounds! They also believed that circling the pagoda would bring them good fortune.
