Due to inadequate space, the former Tzu Chi Kaohsiung Branch used the land beside the river in Sanmin District to build its new Kaohsiung Jing Si Hall. Construction began in November 2, 2002, and the hall was inaugurated in 2006. With a total area of about 12 acres, the hall has 7 floors with a great Buddha statue in the main hall. The hall has a subdued color and a majestic and solemn architecture that blends well with its base. The international meeting hall is often the venue for all kinds of activities and events. Buddhist ritual ceremonies are held in the Preaching Hall. Besides educating children, the Dai-ai Kindergarten is also a venue for educational events.
