The most famous piece of sculpture at Laurel Hill is this group of ceremonial coffins, carved by Alexander Milne Calder (grandfather of the well known 20th century Alexander) who is responsible for many of our finest monuments.  The Angel has lifted the lid of one, releasing the soul of its inmate to ascend to Heaven.
