Originally built in 1920 and burned down in 1994, the present Wude Martial Art Center reconstructed in 2000 modeled after the architectural morphology of the Tang palace but changed the original black tiles roof to glass ceiling. The floor, doors and windows inside the building were refurnished with teak and cypress woods. Thus a new modern style of construction using new types of materials is created with some touches of Japanese style of floor lamps placed around the modern main building, forming a sharp contrast in combination of Japanese and European landscape. The gorgeous and splendid main building is not only served as the arts and cultural center, but also the former dojo (martial arts training place) is leased to local private food and beverage industry to operate some fusion restaurants combined with leisure, arts, dining, as well as to organize exhibitions for paintings, pottery, and other arts events.
