Xinfa Bridge
Taiwan

Former Xinfa Bridge was destroyed by floods when Typhoon Morakot pummeled Taiwan in 2009, causing local residents inconvenience in transportation as they have to bypass nearly 20 kilometers. Therefore, China Steel Corporation funded NT$ 500 million to help rebuild the new bridge to re-shoulder the task of communicating Laonong and Baolai Village. The innovative design of two-span continuous Warren truss bridge blends well the green steel materials into the local mountainous landscape, as a way to convey the spirit of environmental conservation. In addition to link two sides of Laonong River, the new bridge serves as a channel for hot springs spots, as well as a transportation hub for agricultural products such as wax apples and papaya, which help to activate the development of local tourism industry.
