The bridge is situated on the Dragon stream on the 13th km of Anamur – Ermenek motor road in the borders of Anamur District, Mersin. It is a single-arch bridge built over a distance of 19.56 m on the streambed. An additional draining arch was added on the eastern part to discharge floodwater. The main arch was made of strong travertine materials through a fine craftsmanship. The guardrails of the 54-m-long bridge are formed as the extensions of spandrel walls. Though lacking an epitaph, this bridge was built under the orders of Karamanid Dynasty. Being an architectural marvel, Alaköprü Bridge is still in use.
