Albuquerque is the largest city in New Mexico. According to the 2000 U.S. census the city’s population was 523,590 with over 840,000 in the metropolitan area. Albuquerque enjoys warm, sunny weather much of the year with crisp, cool winters. The city enjoys a beautiful and enviable site on the western flank of the Sandia Mountains, straddling the Rio Grande. It’s a dynamic, multicultural city that’s high-tech yet clearly has strong Spanish – Mexican roots.
