Ascona is a village located on the north shore of Lake Maggiore, Canton of Ticino, Switzerland. It is the lowest city in Switzerland, located at 196 meters above sea level.
Ascona is famous for its mild climate, its historic center and a promenade by the lake, full of street cafes and with a Latin atmosphere. And, also famous for its Jazz festival, planned for the week from June 24th to July 3rd, 2021.
The village has developed from a small fishing village to one of the most popular holiday resorts in Switzerland, with long hours of sunshine and a mild winter. Ascona is called the pearl of Lake Maggiore.
