It is located in downtown Silifke District, Mersin. Atatürk showed his interest in Silifke by visiting the district for four times. During one of his visits, he bought a farm in Silifke and gave orders to found an Agricultural Credit Cooperative turning the farm into the organization’s center, and he became a member of this newly founded cooperative.
The first house where Atatürk stayed during his first visit on 27 January 1925 was renovated and transformed into a museum with the personal belongings of Atatürk. It is open for visitors everyday during working hours, except for the first days of religious holidays until noon.
