The Beechworth stone lock-up was bult in 1867 to hold prisoners. The male cell is on the left and the female cell is on the right. It is likely that Ned Kelly was held here before his trial in 1880. Also, his mother was probably held her before her trial a few years earlier. The courthouse is nearby to the north.
