The Clyde Arc , also known more locally as the "Squinty Bridge" is the first bridge to be built over the river Clyde in 35 years .
Construction started in May 2005 and was completed in September 2006 when it was officially opened .
Its span across the river is 169m and cost £20.3 million .
It was closed for several weeks after one of its cables snapped on 14th January 2008 . Fortunately no vehicles or pedestrians were on the bridge at the time .
