View from the first crematorium oven in the Mauthausen camp. This furnace was put into operation in May 1940 and was in continuous operation until the liberation of the camp. Next to it is the dissection room. Mauthausen was the largest extermination camp in Austria, in the 2nd World War. Today Mauthausen is a memorial to the Holocaust. Mauthausen is located about 20 kilometers east of Linz in Upper Austria.
