Fontaneda is a population center in the parish of San Julián de Loria, in Andorra. • It had 98 inhabitants in 2012. • It is located on the rise of the Collado de la Gallina, which joins San Julián de Loria with the Sanctuary of Canólich, and has the Church of San Miguel de Fontaneda as its most representative monument. • Among its buildings there are also some huts, rural mansions with two floors made of stone and wood built to shelter livestock and store agricultural products. • Its name comes from the Latin fons, fontis, "fountain" and extends, facing south, under the Mossers sun. It is crossed by the river of the Gran de la Quera canal and other nearby streams. • Due to its mountainous situation (it is located at 1,307 meters above sea level), Fontaneda suffers from isolation that affects its depopulation. • Its communications, through the Collado de la Gallina, are surrounded by forests and vineyards. • It is an area very popular with hikers and cyclists.
