Guangong Taoist Temple
Kaohsiung

Guangong Taoist Temple was formerly called “Guandi Hall” and renamed as “Wukuaicuo Wu Temple” after the World War II.Upon completion of the temple’s renovation in 1980 (the 69th Year of the Republic of China), General He, Ying-Qin granted a tablet written “Guangong Taoist Temple” to the temple in person.Since then, it has been known as the “Guangong Taoist Temple”, worshiping the popular God of War, Guan Yu.

In recent years, Guangong Taoist Temple has been making efforts to combine the religious culture with tourism.During the Chinese New Year and the Lantern Festival, the temple holds a variety of exciting folklore activities, including guessing riddles written on lanterns, begging to receive turtle-shaped blessed bread, eating long noodles as a symbol for a long life, and the exhibition of creative lanterns.Come and have fun here next time you visit Kaohsiung during the Lantern Festival!
