後壁湖是恆春地區最大的港，春夏漁獲以雨傘旗魚、飛魚、鬼頭刀為主，秋冬則以白皮、黑皮劍旗魚最多。目前此區也設置遊艇碼頭，將是墾海域遊憩活動的樞紐。
