It is quite ironic that the god Shen Nong, the divine farmer who taught ancient Chinese the practice of agriculture, finds believers amidst these mountains known for its mining. The prosperity of the temple can be attributed to the much folklore about miracles of recovery in health or personal turmoil performed onto visiting worshippers.
