Loch Garten lies in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, in the beautiful area of Strathspey, home of the Cairngorms National Park. Each summer, ospreys return from their winter migration to live in these forests. The area is home to a whole host of fabulous rarely-seen indigenous species, including the Scottish wildcat, red squirrel and pine marten, as well as providing a rich habitat for many elusive wild birds, such as the crested tit, crossbill and great spotted woodpecker, to name but a few.
