Milan: Viboldone Abbey - Abbazia di Viboldone in San Giuliano
Lombardia

The Viboldone Abbey, " Abbazia di Viboldone", was founded in 1176 and completed in 1348 by a community of Humiliates Monks, "Monaci Umiliati". The  church is the only remaining part of the original complex and it is considered one of the most important medieval buildings in Lombardy. In the façade (14th century) are present elements from both Romanesque and Lombard - Gothic styles. The portal and the large opening create a charming color scheme with the façade in cotto. Presently it houses a community of Benedectine Nuns.
