The Whitney Trailhead is better known as the Whitney Portal, and outside of a few main starting points in Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks, it's possibly the busiest trailhead in all the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Many hikers start up this trail well before sunrise using a flashlight to find their way.
