Mull Of Galloway Fog Horn Lookout
Scotland

Before the days of RADAR and GPS ships were more reliant on Lighthouses for navigation. When the fog was too thick to make out the light from the lighthouses the fog horns were used to help the ships. The fog horn seen here is no longer used.

You are currently standing almost at the most Southerly point in Scotland, from here, to the south you can see the Isle of Man and on clear days you can even see Ireland.
