The first and the third objective of the day (Merriam Peak in the middle), this saddle allowed for sweeping views down to Royce lakes as well as the SHR on the other side. Both Royce and Merriam looked like daunting slogs to reach the summits, but clever route finding found them both to be more than pleasant on the way up.
