Located on Kilometer 45 of Taiwan Provincial Highway 28, the Xinwei Scenic Bridge across the Laonung River connects Meinong, Liugui, Maolin and other districts of Kaohsiung City, as well as the Gaosu, Dajin and other villages of Pingtung County. It shortens travel time by at least 30 minutes. The bridge has steel arches that express its architectural concept of a purple butterfly. At night, blue lights make it look like a butterfly with open wings from afar.
