It is located in Akdeniz District, Mersin. The building, known as Tahtalı (literally: ‘wooden’) Mosque due to its wooden minaret, stands on the Silifke Avenue in Kiremithane Neighborhood. It was built out of face stones in 1898 on the land donated by Mahmut Şami Sümen. The mosque and its imaret were repaired by General Directorate of Foundations.
