马头墙：
马头墙是徽派建筑重要特点之一。高高的马头墙又称之为封火墙，在过去民居建筑密度较大的村落间，起到隔断火源防止火灾扩散的作用。马头墙一般呈两叠式或三叠式高低错落着，也有少数较大的民居，因有前后厅，马头墙的叠数多至五叠，俗称“五岳朝天”。
“一马当先、马到成功、汗马功劳”，看到这些成语，就会理解古徽州建筑设计师为什么要将这种封火墙，称之为“马头墙”的了。
