查济起源：
查济的“査”字在这里念“zha”,而不是"cha"。查济村民，十有八九姓査。据宗谱记载，査姓原是周朝伯禽的后代，周惠王（公元前676年）肇封査邑（今山东济阳）以地而得氏，公元前314年周赦王姬延，号东安，改姬姓为査姓，为査姓一世祖也。西汉建元年间（公元307~314年）避石勒之乱，诸侯奔窜各郡，莫知所考。其显于泾县则自三十九世祖查文姬公，他生于南北朝陈宣帝大建初年（公元596年），随大业三年（公元607年）明经登第，受封为天台宰，后任宣州刺史。唐高祖登位（公元618年），又召兼任池州刺史。从此往返宣、池两地，途径查济，被这块秀丽的山水风光所吸引陶醉。唐武德八年（公元625年）致仕归里，迁居查济，开辟村落，距今已有1380年历史。
查济现今的村口。以满足于现今交通工具的柏油路面似乎与古村不协调。
