Chapel of the Mother of God of Sljeme
Croatia

Chapel of the Mother of God of Sljeme, on Medvednica mountain near Zagreb, was designed by architect Juraj Denzler. Chapel was built in 1932, as a monument of thousandth anniversary of the Croatian kingdom. The ceiling is built from Slavonian oak and is separated into 49 fields out of which 39 show coat of arms of Croatian towns and lands. The inside of the chapel was decorated by Croatian sculptors and painters Vanja Radauš, Josip Turkalj, Radoje Hudolin and Mirko Stupica.
