There was water skiing, fishing, and real estate to develop. Unfortunately over irrigation and uncontrolled runoff from agriculture made the lake flood, inundating many, many new vacation homes. Then the concentrated nitrates from fertilizer killed all the fish that were stocked for sport fishing.
