Darwin Bench is a sublime destination in California's High Sierra. Unnamed glacial lakes stretch out one after another catching mineral-rich meltwater from some of the larger active glaciers in the area, while precipitous rock faces stretch up to form some of the classic summits in the heart of the range. I didn't venture to the bench itself during this trip, though the views from above after ascending Mt. Lamarck were enough to have me dreaming of my next trip to the area.
