Tomb Of The Martyrs Of Guangzhou Commune

TheTomb of the Martyrs of Guangzhou Commune is situated in Martyrs Park, the park is divided into two areas, the tomb with memorial and the more formal gardens themselves. The whole park is some 186,000 square meters. Within the park can be found the Guangzhou Insurrection Monument, Tomb of the Martyrs of Guangzhou Commune, Four Martyrs’ Tomb, Comrade Ye Jianying Monument, the Blood Sacrificed Xuanyuan Pavilion, Sino-North Korea Friendship Blood Sacrificed Pavilion, Sino-Soviet Friendship Blood Sacrificed Pavilion. Guangzhou Insurrectional Martyr Cemetery Park was constructed in 1954 to commemorate martyrs who died bravely and honorably during the Guangzhou Insurrection led by the Communist Party of China on December 11, 1927. The uprising ended in failure against the much larger Kuomintang forces, resulting in the death of over 5700 people including international revolutionaries from the Soviet Union and Korea. The park is also host to many thousands of locals who come to take in the fresh air and beautiful views and to do their morning and daily excercises walking, jogging, Tai Chi, dancing and even singing.
