This was shot on a cold and cloudy early February afternoon at the upstream end of Turbine channel in Târgu Mureș.
The artificial side channel of the Maros/Mureș river was built in the early 1900s together with the dam in order to reliably power a hydroelectric turbine generator downstream which, together with other investments, were initiated under the mandates of György Bernády.
This image shows the frozen upstream end of the channel sparkling in the winter sunshine viewed from the pedestrian bridge across it.
