Gigapixel view from atop Milk Peak (elev. 8,646') in the Warner Mountains east of Alturas, California. The peak has a good view of the higher Warren Peak & its escarpment to the south, the Alkali Lakes in the Surprise Valley peering east in Nevada, & the northern Warner Mountains going into Oregon. To the west a nighttime rainstorm ran through which led to an inversion buildup. The mountain was originally called Squaw Peak, however the word is now seen as derogatory.
