Approaching Schafreuter

Just another 100 m (300 ft) up and I reach the peak of Schafreuter (aka Schafreiter or Scharfreiter). A quick look at the map reveals that from this point at about 2,000 m the path follows the border between Bavaria and Tyrol. Despite the harsh look this is an easily accessible peak that rewards you with a great view around. On clear days you'll even see Ammersee. The commonly chosen path starts at a parking area down in the valley close to Hinterriß and has a nice opportunity for a break at the Tölzer Hütte alpine hut.
