Archaeologic excavation of Nerik, the religious center of the Hittite empire:

In the 2nd millenium B.C. the Hittites ruled an empire that reached from western Turkey to the borders of Egypt. This tunnel under the main temple of Nerik lead to an underground well. The excavation was extremely difficult, because it needed some specialists from the mining industry to stabilize the ancient tunnel.
