Eye Spring St. Kathrein

There is no evidence as to when people in this area discovered the beneficial effects of the 36 °C warm mineral water. Fact is that the spa dates back to the year 1437. In the Middle Ages this spring was known as Augenquelle ("eye-spring"), as people used to wash their eyes with this highly effective water in order to ensure good eyesight until old age.
