Beinn Nam Bo, Sutherland
Scotland

Beinn Nam Bo is a very remote hill in the wilderness of the county of Sutherland at the very north of the mainland of Scotland. It was approached via the windfarm to the east having just bagged Beinn Ruadh. There is road-end parking for around three cars at Strathy, NC839643. From the estate track, crossed the bridge at NC825596, passed the power station, studied the wind turbine layout on the signboard then made my way to wind turbine WTG9 which stands at NC805579. The hill and trig are visible from this point, but from this point on there is no path to follow. Most of the route was dry but there are boggy areas to avoid. There are tussocks too. The pillar stands on a rocky summit. The 360° panorama has been taken from triangulation pillar S7096. The views include Ben Loyal, Ben Hope and the Orkney Islands. Returned via the wind farm and the estate track to Strathy.
